Dale Tiffany Lamp

Information and useful resources to help you choose the very best Tiffany lamp shades, lamps and other products in the Tiffany range.

Just like his predecessor, Dale Tiffany strives to produce authentic, classic looking products that stand the test of time. Dale Tiffany lamps have only been in production since the formation of the company in 1979 but have ensured the old copper foil techniques first developed by Louis Tiffany in the late 1800’s are still maintained.

An original Tiffany lamp is now becoming a real collector’s piece, and is seen as antique. It is not uncommon for these lamps to be sold at auction for over $100,000 each.

Fortunately these beautiful looking lamps are not exclusively confined to the homes of the very wealthy. The old style methods combined with some of the more modern design techniques ensures that a Dale Tiffany lamp can be accessible on a large-scale and yet each one is as unique and authentic as the first.

Each lamp is hand-made using stained or hand painted glass and inlaid with gold or silver threads. The end product speaks for itself and is truly a work of art. Due to the time-consuming aspect and the use of precious metals, a Dale Tiffany lamp will always command a reassuringly high price tag and naturally hold or increase its value over time.

There are 2 different styles of Dale Tiffany lamps:

1. The first is an upward facing design where the bulb itself faces upwards to reflect light from the ceiling. This helps to create a softer and subtle feel to a room.

2. The other design is therefore a downward light where the light from the bulb is concentrated on the surface immediately below and around the base. A small are around the light, through the shade is also gently illuminated with a soft glow.

Both styles are very popular and both come with various styles of shades to maintain their uniqueness. There is even the possibility of having your very own custom-made Dale Tiffany lamp. The difference being, if you want to know the price, you obviously can’t afford it!

Mary Ingels @ 9:10 pm #

I found a hanging light at a yard sale. When I turned it over it has a small metal tag with the name Dale Tiffany on it. I have been looking at websites for two days and cannot find a similar ones. Do you know how I can find out if it is real and what it may be worth?
Thanks Mary Ingels
